Once you've run a search and you have some items displayed in the Search Results pane of the Meta Search Window, you can drag those items out of the Meta Search Window and into other applications, just like you can do from the Finder. This gives you the ability to work with Meta search results the same way you can work with items in the Finder.

In the picture above, an item from the Search Results pane is being made into an attachment to an email message in Mail.app using drag-and-drop. You can also drag the item's icon from the Item Details pane of the Search Results pane to get the same effect.
